Knott's Berry Farm with friends

We caught a play.  A Christmas Carol.
I didn't expect to make it through the ghost of Christmas past let alone the ghost of Christmas to come.
Thankfully it was very family friendly.
Katie did spend half the play with her head buried in my shoulder.

A shooting gallery.
My girls wouldn't get near the gun.
Ironic.
So I got to use their turns.
Our friends were more adventurous and did a great job.

A cowboy walks over to our girls and asks for a volunteer.
I was hoping our friendly friends would oblige.
E refused to help him "catch a bullet."
K was game.  She walked right over and stood in her spot.
I don't think they realized she was 2 years old a week prior.
Not much practice catching bullets.

Here comes the bad guy looking for a bullet catching blacksmith.

Katie did just what she was told.
She caught that bullet so fast.
We all heard it drop in the pail.

We stopped by the old time school house.
Fitting since the mothers of these girls became friends teaching at the same school.

Love these girls.

Santa and the Christmas Tree Lighting

There was no way I could get the girls to sit on Santa's lap.
They won't just cry, they will run.
So when the lady pulled out reindeer, I was very thankful.
Earlier this month, we headed to our almamatter for the Annual
Christmas Tree lighting.
It never fails to kick off the Christmas season for us.

Minnie Mouse is posting notes all over the house.
It seems important.
I'll let you know what they say once I figure it out.

 Playing faces with mom's makeup.
 Love these roses.
Christmas gifts for the my Mops table and teacher gift.

Happy Birthday!

I had to put streamers across the door for our wild thing to start her birthday.
She had counted down the days and was so excited!
But then she didn't come join us in bed as she does every morning.
We found her stuck by the streamers.
She ended up crying until Daddy rescued her.

She got a new robe for her birthday.

And a trip to Farrell's.
A fancy ice cream shop.
They sang, she blew out a candle, we all had a great time.
A Happy Birthday it was.

We took a morning to make snowmen out of powdered donuts.
Eating them in the end, of course.
Making a lot of soup here and counting down until Christmas.
We are ready!
It's going to be a good Christmas, I can feel it.

Fun At The Color Run

Becca and Mars signed up for The Color Run.
Em, Katiemetoo and I went along to watch and take pictures.
The premise of the 5K is to run while people throw colored chalk at you.
After the run, there is a huge dance party.
I tried to stay away for the sake of my camera.
E and K had to join the fun.
 They LOVED it.
Em danced like I have never seen her dance.
It was so awesome to see her cut loose.
Colored chalk + music = pure joy.
 They couldn't stop dancing.

People thought the girls were adorable.
Multiple people asked to take pictures of them.
And gave them more chalk bags.
 This was the best moment.
Twirling in circles,
color everywhere.

This was E's hair at the end.
It took multiple washes to get the color out.
Everyone had colored boogers for days.
Look up The Color Run in your area!
Unless you don't like fun. Wink.

Krisit's Wedding

Another reason to celebrate.
Welcome Jay.
 Happy Day.
This would have been our Christmas card...
Oh well.

 We stopped by the aquarium.

Their little brains are mesmerized by animals.
 They drove cars at Legoland.
I died of laughter watching Katie try to drive.

She would constantly turn the wheel left until she hit the center divider.
The attendant would fix her car and she would do it again.
She was surprised it wouldn't work right.
She didn't understand how to make it go forward.
She was so frustrated.  By the end of the ride she was crying.
