This is one of Emily's new tricks.
In other news, Colin broke a couple ribs. I tried to come up with a dramatic story but the truth is that he dove for a volleyball, made the save but broke a couple ribs. Who knew that beach volleyball was so dangerous.

Em and I spent the day on base as Colin did paper work to change duty stations. This is the grinder (blacktop) where Colin left for his first deployment. And behind Emily is the hill where Colin frequently runs to the top.
Cowgirl in training.
Notice her new shoes.

Our regular hangout.

In Nana's words, "She is fearless."

Did you notice Emily's new shoes. Her dad took her shopping. He came home with two pairs of shoes and five outfits. I thought I was a sucker. I am told Emily has very definite taste. And if a shoe didn't fit correctly she would point to where it hurt and says "ow" calmly. She cracks me up. She hopped out of the car, she ran over and modeled her shoes. She is very happy with them.

She surprises me daily by her sweet ways. If a single cheerio drops, she says "uh-oh". If she spills a little drop, she grabs a towel and cleans it up. She is so meticulous that she will often pick up a strand of hair and throw it away! I do not teach her these things, she just does them. Not that I am complaining. Her world is a happy, wonderful place I want to live.

Too cute.

I was wondering where she went...

then she walked back and handed me the butter. She didn't want anymore.
