Happiness is...

Sneaking a snack.

5.28.2012

She sits, perched on top of the couch.
So still.
I love asking her what she is thinking about.
Today she was keeping watch for the large black bee that lives in our garden.

The sorting continues.
Change today.
It makes them so happy.
And if you over hear how much they count.
Let's just say, someone is rich.

5.24.2012

I know what you are thinking...

what masculine sheets.
That is what everyone says.
Oh, the powder...yea, guess who.
Katie Me To strikes again.

Ballerinas

The Spring Showcase has come and gone.
The girls danced to a song from Tangled.
They practiced with me everyday before the performance.
 Excellent form little one.
 Emily was shy but brave.
After the performance, they had a raffle.
Katie picked numbers
because she is the youngest student at the Dance Academy.
She also picked her nose in front of everyone.
I have no idea why they were not smiling.

Miss Cassie is an awesome ballerina.
She did two performances and they were spectacular.
Miss Cassie doesn't just perform or just teach,
she does both really well.

Butterflies.

We had to order butterflies again.
They knew just what to do.
Larvae, check.
Chrysalis, check.
 Hatch, check.
 Climb on rocks, check.
Dog eat a butterfly, check.
Butterfly escape, check.
Happy girls, check.

Good job Cubby.

Awana has ended for the year.
E completed her memorization book.
She sang the Cubbies song really well for the crowd of parents.

Good job E!

Hi Daddy,
We miss you.
Come home so we can hide in the laundry
while you search the house to tickle us.
We can't wait to jump on you
and show you how we flip on the ballet bar.
We send our kisses on the wind to fill up your heart.
Love, your girls.

(the girls dictated this, I helped with a little sentence structure)

5.12.2012

The girls are all about cooking.
I don't usually invite them to join because
I honestly just like to get it over with.
I have enough messes to clean up.

But when they ask to help,
I let them.
So when I found aprons on super clearance,
I grabbed two.
Four aprons hang by the fridge.
Two polka dot pinks for the girls.
A motherly blue and cream with embroider lavender one for me.
It's extra special because I bought it in France.
An a desert digi camouflage apron for Daddy.
Four aprons hanging together make me happy.

The girls love dresses.
I let them choose what they wear a lot these days.
Fancy dresses usually are the preference.
I love it because soon they won't want to dance in flowy gown
and accessorize in just the right bows and jewelry.
I love this stage and will be happy to indulge it as long as it lasts.

5.08.2012

Love yellow peeps.
Every year I swear I'll make a peep-diorama.
Every year I don't get around to it.
Maybe I'll start now.

A haiku for Katie Me Too

Swing fast my little one
Laugh loudly as the wind pushes you along
Feel deeply my little one

(if you counted, yes I know and no I don't care)

5.04.2012

I love moments when they break into a gymnastics routine.
They love showing me how long their legs are.
These girls are such friends.
Sharing so much.
Bound at the hip.
I work at making sure they have individual time with mommy
and they always squawk because they prefer doing things together.
They balance each other out.
Katie learns to ask before doing from Emily.
Emily learns to tease from Katie.
If fact they both delight in pretending they won't do what I ask
so when I start to be "sad" or "give them some unjust punishment"
they laugh and tell me they really did what I asked.
I usually threaten them with things like hanging them from the light post or
sending them to the moon.
Sisters are such fun.

Duma is starting to earn her keep.
She caught a mouse!!
One of the disadvantages of living in the middle of open land
is the occasional wildlife that wanders in.
We are proud of you Duma.

The many faces of Katie

Oh this girl can make anyone laugh.
